If you’ve seen my photos, you’ve met Stanley. He’s my sidekick, my walking buddy, and frankly the calmest one in any room we walk into. He has never once been stressed about a deductible.
I’ve learned a few things from him that apply surprisingly well to insurance.
1. One tree at a time
Stanley doesn’t try to cover the whole park at once. He goes tree to tree. Insurance is the same: who needs coverage, then which doctors matter, then which plans fit. One step, then the next.
2. Ask for help
When his ball rolls under the couch, Stanley asks. Loudly. You don’t have to sort out networks and savings alone either. That’s literally my job.
3. Be early
Stanley is at the door well before walk time, every time. Insurance deadlines, like the 60 days after losing coverage, go faster than you think. Starting early takes all the pressure off.
4. Go to your checkups
Stanley goes to the vet every year. He complains a little, but he goes. Preventive care like checkups and cleanings is usually covered, so use it.
Stanley’s final word
Wag more, worry less, and call Steve.
